the producer and presenter of "The DOSE", an evening radio magazine three-times a week on Joy MF Lusaka, and a student at UNZA. Seven interview-footage tracks and four clips; (34;40); 2 Aug.2012
Petronella Misole Kalimbwe aka "Petronella" is a popular DJ with Joy FM in Lusaka. The 24-years young woman who's completing her degree at UNZA this year, uses her radio platform and popularity among young listeners to raise awareness for African and Zambian culture in her radio programmes. Here, she talks of her journey as a woman in to the media world, starting from the ZNBC-fan-club right after school, and celebrates the support of her mother as "the pillar of her life". The encouragement she herself received now motives Petronella to support young talent around her by giving them air-time or introducing them to producers. Her fortnightly on-air meeting place for poets and poetry "Poetic Tuesday" is typical for the creative initiative and responsibility she takes up in her society. One of the programmes in December 2012, became "a special", featuring an on-air encounter of poetry from "both sides of the Zambezi"...
